Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge underwent surgery Tuesday on his injured hip. The England international, who traveled last week to the United States for assessment, made the announcement on social media. "Just want to let the world know I've had a successful operation on my hip today, and I want to thank God for allowing that to be possible," he said on Instagram without indicating how long he'd be out. "Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks for the support." Sturridge has been limited to just 18 games in an injury-plagued season, scoring five goals. The 25-year-old also went to America earlier in the season to have a thigh problem examined. | |||||
